This Faux Shutter or Fractured technique is a great way to show off and use up Designer Series Paper scraps. Be sure to stock up on your favorite DSP during the June Designer Series Paper Sale. I saw first saw this technique taught by Kevin Theesen. Click here to see the You Did It Bight & Beautiful Card Supplies.
I used the Stylish Shapes to cut out my square piece. You can place it in the center of the card or a little higher like I did here. Next you will put adhesive where the squiggly lines are marked. You want them near but not touching the square and around the outside edges.
Next add the ¼” Basic Black strips. You want to start at the corner edge of the square and follow the same pattern around.
Add your Designer Series Paper.
Flip the piece over and trim around the Basic White Cardstock.
The front is now ready to add to your card.
